Dianne McCarthy, R.D.H., A.A.S
Dianne came to Periodontal Associates in 1974 from a periodontal practice in the Boston area after moving to Maine. A graduate of Westbrook College, she enjoys working with patients individually tailoring care according to their needs. “The emphasis at Periodontal Associates is on patient health and education. I appreciate how the doctors and staff work together delivering highly skilled and specialized treatment, approached conservatively.”
Dianne lives in Yarmouth with her husband and their two dogs. They have an adult son and daughter and two beautiful grandchildren. Over the years, they have supported many wonderful causes including fundraising and leadership work for local public and private schools, sports clubs, music groups, church groups, civic groups, and organizations that deliver services to children in need or those dealing with illness and grief.
Time spent with family and friends is very important to Dianne, and she also enjoys playing golf, traveling, music, art, theater, and dance.
Deb Stillman, R.D.H., A.A.S.
Deb came to Periodontal Associates in 1981 after first working in a general dental office. She is a graduate of Westbrook College. “I love the patient education aspect at Periodontal Associates: I find it so rewarding to see our patients’ health improving as they progress through treatment. I feel that I am part of a great team which benefits all involved, ourselves, but most importantly our patients.”
Deb lives in Westbrook and has an adult son. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, camping, biking and time spent with family and friends.
Cathy St. Laurent, R.D.H., A.A.S
Cathy has been with Periodontal Associates since her graduation from Westbrook College in 1989. “Periodontal Associates gives me the opportunity to share my knowledge with patients and perform time-honored treatments that show results. I appreciate the way everyone has the same vision of practicing and is willing to work together towards that common goal.”
Cathy lives in Portland and is the proud mother of a daughter and a son. She leads a busy life with her school-aged children, as they are involved in sports, music and art. But mostly, she enjoys spending time with her family at home and away at camp.
Julie Armstrong, R.D.H., B.S.
Julie joined Periodontal Associates in July 1995 after completing her B.S. Degree in Dental Hygiene at Westbrook College. She also works part-time as a clinical instructor at the University of New England in the dental hygiene department and has done so for the past 10 years. “Sharing my experiences and love of the profession has been personally rewarding.”
She has been involved with many great organizations through the years including the Maine Dental Hygienists’ Association, Westbrook College Alumni Association, Project Grace and Make-A-Wish Foundation.
In her spare time, Julie enjoys traveling, attending concerts and spending time with family and friends. She is a huge Red Sox fan and her quest is to see a game in all the Major League Baseball parks.
Clyda Gagnon, R.D.H., A.A.S.
Clyda has worked with Periodontal Associates since her graduation from the University of New England in 1999. She practices dental hygiene three days an week and assists in surgery the fourth day. She spent 25 years as a dental assistant in a variety of settings including pediatric, periodontal, oral surgery and general dental offices before returning to college to complete her degree.
After graduating from UNE, Clyda was inducted into Sigma Phi Alpha, the National Dental Hygiene Honor Society, and is active in the local chapter. She is also active in the Maine Dental Hygienists’ Association. She served 6 years on the MDHA Dental Hygiene Executive Board, her last year as its President. In 2003 and 2004 she attended the American Dental Hygienists’ Association Convention as a delegate for MDHA. In addition, Clyda has enjoyed volunteering with many organizations, including the Westbrook College Alumni Association, US Girl Scouts, and Woodfords’ Church.
Clyda and her husband Ron have two grown daughters and a beautiful granddaughter. They enjoy spending summers at their family camp on Roxbury Pond.

Diane Beaulieu, R.D.H., A.A.S.
After working 15 years as a dental assistant, and with 2 of her 3 children in college, Diane decided to continue her education as well. She graduated from the University of New England in 2001 and has been with Periodontal Associates since. “Working at Periodontal Associates allows me to be who I am in caring for patients with a ‘joie de vivre’ attitude. I enjoy seeing the changes in patients’ oral health that comes from the education I provide in a fun and relaxed atmosphere".
Over the years she has volunteered with organizations such as Saco Community Dental Health, The Root Cellar, as well as a mission trip to Belize, which she says was "life changing".
Diane resides in Saco with husband Norm and enjoys many outside activities especially her new found pastime, golfing, as well as walking her dog Ruby, decorating and being with friends and family.
Nancy Lemieux, R.D.H.
Nancy is originally from Boston and graduated from the Forsythe School for Dental Hygienists in 1963. She worked at Forsythe as a clinical instructor in the Oral Surgery Department during the years before moving to Portland in 1966. Since then, she has worked in several dental office settings, accruing about 24 years of periodontal experience, before joining Periodontal Associates.
Nancy is married with two children and two lovely grandchildren.
